A
n assessment of the working in
Agro-Economic empirical studies on the themes assigned to it by
the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India has made me glad.
The studies
completed so far are 50 in number and all of them have the
features of rigorous methodological base, honest field work, apt
processing of data and crisp analysis. The conclusions drawn in
the studies are pregnant with ready applicability and reassuring
future.
I have no hesitation in putting it on record that over a short
span of its existence for sixteen years only, AERC has proved to be
a "Research Centre Of Excellence". I
am sure the centre will produce many more valuable studies and
be the dues ex machina in the transformation of Bihar and
Jharkhand agriculture.
